Reason 1.4 (d) and (h). 1. (C) Polmiloff informed Nonproliferation, Arms Control and Disarmament Deputy Director Marina Laker of the new Executive Order on Jun 30 and provided additional details in a follow-up meeting on July 5. Laker welcomed USG's supplemental background and said she would convey the information to Assistant Deputy Minister Jim Wright who was preparing his departure for the G-8 summit. She undertook to disseminate the information on entities in the E.O. to appropriate Canadian authorities, promising to contact us with any subsequent reactions.
