UNCLAS VILNIUS 000693 SIPDIS STATE FOR EUR/NB, EUR/RPM, AND PM/PPA E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: MASS, PREL, PARM, LH, HT47 SUBJECT: LITHUANIA GRATEFUL FOR COALITION SOLIDARITY FUND ALLOCATION REF: SECSTATE 120737 (NOTAL) 1. The Ambassador informed GOL officials on June 30 of the decision to allocate USD 8 million in Coalition Solidarity Funds to Lithuania. In separate conversations, the Ambassador spoke with Minister of Defense Gediminas Kirkilas, Director of the MFA's America, Africa, Asia and Oceania Department Jonas Paslauskas, and Director of the MFA's Security Policy Department Kestutis Jankauskas. All three expressed great appreciation for this additional USG support. Kirkilas said that he does not expect the GOL will alter the proposed uses of the funding. 2.
