Embassy delivered reftel diplomatic note to the MFA on June 20-21. On June 22 (and again on June 24), UN/OAS affairs deputy division chief Rhadys Abreu de Polanco informed us that she had requested the views of the Dominican Republic's health authorities. We will follow up, emphasize the importance of U.S. membership on the WHO Executive Board and U.S. commitment to the work of the organization, and report any definitive response. HERTELL
