US embassy cable - 05KINGSTON1559

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

On June 14, Poloff delivered reftel talking points by
telephone and fax to Pamela Ingleton, International
Organizations Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Foreign Trade (MFAFT). Ingleton welcomed the information,
commenting only that she believed this would be a
"contentious" issue among Member States, since "respect for
human life" is a "fully loaded" term when presented by the
U.S. She added that the GOJ shares USG respect for human
life. Ingleton said that MFAFT is consulting with experts at
the Ministry of Education to make a decision on the bioethics
declaration.
