Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

C O N F I D E N T I A L MANAMA 000891 SIPDIS STATE FOR NEA/ARPI, IO E.O. 12958: DECL: 06/22/2015 TAGS: SENV, ECON, EAID, KUNR, BA SUBJECT: BAHRAIN: UN COMMISSION ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT REF: STATE 114906 Classified by A/DCM Helen H. Hahn for reasons 1.4 (b) and (d). (C) Pol/Econ chief June 21 delivered reftel demarche on the "energy cycle" in the UN Commission on Sustainable Development to MFA Director for International Organization Affairs Ghassan Shaikho. Shaikho said there was a role for both negotiated texts and practical activities related to sustainable development, and did not want to dismiss the impact a negotiated text could have on a country that harms the prospects for sustainable development, such as a major polluter. He agreed that the non-negotiated outcomes provided experts with practical tools to promote sustainable development. MONROE
