US embassy cable - 05MADRID2391

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

Econoff delivered reftel points on June 8 to Jose Maria
Alvarez Gomez-Pallete, Subdirector General for International
Relations, at the Spanish Customs Agency. Alvarez advised
Econoff that reftel points would be passed directly to the
Spanish Customs Director General. On June 21, Econoff
followed up on reftel points with Alvarez. Alvarez said that
Spain would support the proposed WCO Framework and that the
Spanish Customs Director General had replied directly to the
US Customs Director General via letter. Alvarez further said
that he would provide Econoff with a copy of the letter
confirming Spain's decision to support the WCO Framework.
