Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

UNCLAS ANKARA 003467 SIPDIS SENSITIVE DEPT FOR DS COMMAND CENTER E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: AMGT, ASEC, CASC, PREL, PTER, TU SUBJECT: SOUND BOMBS DETONATE AT ANKARA AKP OFFICES 06/16/05 1. (SBU) On Thursday, 16 June 2005 at approximately 1300 hours (Local), an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near the Justice and Development Party (AKP) office in the Altindag district of Ankara, Turkey. The Turkish National Police (TNP) described the IED as a sound bomb. There were no injuries reported. Another IED was discovered at approximately the same time at the AKP office in the Cankaya district of Ankara. This device, also a sound bomb, was detonated by the TNP's EOD team without injury. The TNP believe that the Marxist Leninist Communist Party (MLKP), a left-wing indigenous terrorist organization, is responsible for both sound bombs. Neither U.S. Government, nor western interests, appear to have been targeted. 2. (U) Point of contact is ARSO Jason Griffin at 90-312-455-5555 ext. 2599. EDELMAN
