Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

1. (C) On May 17, 2005, Charge briefed Jordanian Foreign
Minister Qasrawi on the Proliferation Security Initiative
(PSI) and encouraged active Jordanian participation in this
effort. Qasrawi received the information favorably, as had
Prince Faisal, whom Charge had briefed earlier on the PSI.
However, neither man was willing to commit Jordan to joining
the PSI without further consultations within the GOJ.
2. (C) Acting PolCouns raised the PSI on May 23 with Walid
Obeidat in the Foreign Minister,s private office, pointing
out that Secretaries Rice and Rumsfeld would soon publicly
commemorate the PSI,s second anniversary. Obeidat
replied that the GOJ was still receptive to the initiative,
but that no decision on participation had yet been taken.
