The Government of Tanzania has given a positive response to our demarche and diplomatic note of May 6 concerning the candidacy of Judge Buergenthal for the ICJ. In a May 16 diplomatic note, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it would support the candidacy of Judge Buergenthal to the International Court of Justice. A copy of the GOT's diplomatic note will be faxed to AF/E. OWEN
