Post delivered reftel diplomatic note on May 11 to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the candidacy of Judge Thomas Burgenthal for reelection to the International Court of Justice. PolOff delivered a copy of the dip note May 12 to Honduran MFA Acting Foreign Minister AMB Mario Fortin during a meeting between Fortin and AMB Sichan Siv, USUN. AMB Fortin told AMB Siv that Burgenthal was well and favorably known to many senior MFA officials and that once the Honduran National Group endorsed his reelection, as Fortin expected, the GOH would officially support Burgenthal's reelection as well. 2.
