CHARGE D'AFFAIRES A.I. MANZANARES PRESENTED DEMARCHE AS INSTRUCTED IN REFTEL TO JOSE MARIA PONS IRAZAZABAL, DIRECTOR GENERAL FOR NORTH AMERICAN AFFAIRS AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS ON MAY 10. FBI DIRECTOR MUELLER WAS IN SPAIN AND HAD A MEETING WITH MINISTER OF INTERIOR ALONSO IN WHICH HE ALSO RAISED THE SUBJECT ON THE SAME DAY. 2. BOTH PONS AND ALONSO EXPRESSED INTEREST IN THE IDEA.
