A. DETAILED PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: APPLICATION FOR
PRE-QUALIFICATIONS FOR PLANNING, DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION,
DEVELOPMENT, FINANCE AND MAINTENANCE OF THE "COLOMBO-
KATUNAYAKE EXPRESSWAY" (CKE)
B. Other information:
(A) Request for pre-qualification (RFQ) documents will
be available from May 16 - July 01, 2005.
(B) RFQ Documents can be obtained by writing to the
Project Manager at the above address.
(B) The written request should be clearly marked
"request for qualification - Colombo Katunayake
Expressway"
(C) The request should be accompanied by a non-
refundable fee of Sri Lanka Rupees fifty thousand (Rs.
50,000/-) drawn in favor of the General Manager, Road
Development Authority, Sri Lanka. (US Dollar = Sri Lanka
Rupees 101)
(D) RFQ documents can also be down loaded from the web
sites: (1) www.mohsl.gov.lk (2) www.boi.lk
(E) An information seminar has been scheduled on June
02, 2005.
(F) Applicants who download the RFQ documents will be
required to pay the non-refundable fee at the time of
registration for the information seminar.
(G) Submission of RFQ documents will close on
July 15, 2005 at 1700 hrs. Local time.
CKE is the first of many expressway project the
Government of Sri Lanka is the process of implementing.
CKE is a 25.6 km four lane expressway-connecting Colombo
International Airport with the city center and will be
the first Public Private Partnership (PPP) road project.
Over 90 percent of the land for the main trace has
been acquired and progress has been made in sand
placement and soft ground treatment.
REMARKS: U.S. firms interested in this proposal should
also notify the Commercial Section of the U.S. Embassy in
