Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

UNCLAS CANBERRA 000791 SIPDIS DEPT FOR IO/SHA - SMEHERA, S/UNR - JGERAN, AND USUN - MZACK E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PHUM, AS, UNCHR-1, UNGA SUBJECT: AUSTRALIA WILL WORK TO PREVENT UNMANDATED SESSION ON CHR REFORM REF: STATE 82967 1. (U) We presented reftel talking points on May 5 to Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Director for Human Rights and Indigenous Issues Gerry McGuire. McGuire told us late on May 5 that the USG could rely on the GOA's support in opposing the Commission reform resolution in ECOSOC, noting that Australia had already opposed the resolution in the UN Commission on Human Rights (CHR). There was already ample movement in New York to discuss UNCHR reform, he said, and added that "New York is where the main game is." STANTON
