Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

C O N F I D E N T I A L ABUJA 001909 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: DECL: 06/25/2012 TAGS: PREL, PGOV, MA, NI, OAU SUBJECT: SUBJECT: NIGERIA REQUESTS U.S. TO DELAY RECOGNITION OF RAVALOMANANA UNTIL AFTER OAU/AU MEETING REF: ABUJA 1849 AND PREVIOUS CLASSIFIED BY CDA ANDREWS. REASON: 1.5(B) 1.(C) National Security Advisor Aliyu Mohammed June 25 requested the U.S. to delay acceptance of Ravalomanana's accession until after the OAU/AU Durban convention in early July. Aliyu said that, knowing the views of the U.S. and most Western countries would help the OAU reach a decision favorable to Ravalomanana. But announcements by the U.S. and others that appear to pre-empt the OAU/AU would create difficulties. ANDREWS
