Maseru's 2006 MPP goal Democratic Systems and Practices seeks to 
promote greater participation and leadership by women in 
politics, business and society as leaders. Post objectives are 
to provide women in Lesotho the capacity and opportunity to 
participate in decision making, to empower them through training 
and involve them in the economic development of the country.  As 
a very successful entrepreneur, Ms. Monkhi will benefit greatly 
from the program and bring back skills that will benefit women. 
She is an active mentor for young Basotho women interested in 
entering business.

development of the U.S and will have the opportunity to explore 
the progress of women in overcoming gender bias to participate 
more fully in the world economy.  Someone of her ability will be 
able to put this experience to good use in the Lesotho context.
