Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

1. (S/NF) Post EAC convened on May 5 at 3:30 P.M. to review
the current security environment and to finalize post
recommendation on the discontinuation of authorized depature
status (septel forthcoming). Key offices and personnel
represented at the meeting included: AMB, DCM, DAT, FPD, IPC,
MO, LEGATT, POLE, RMAS, OMC, RSO, CONS, PD and USAID.
2. (S/NF) EAC members also discussed the absence of new
specific threat information and agreed that the recent
grenade incidents have not developed any momentum in terms of
an ongoing threat. The committee also reviewed the recent
reports of dengue fever and polio in the coastal regions of
the country, but determined that any action regarding this
issue will wait for the final assesment and recommendation of
the NAMRU team regarding risks and preventative measures.
3. (S/NF) EAC determined that no changes were warranted to
the standing policies regarding in-country and in-city
movement. The DCM reminded all EAC members to continue to
carefully evaluate any requests for official travel to Yemen
in terms of their necessity to Mission objectives.
4. (SBU) The EAC will convene again on May 4 to review
ongoing actions regarding Post's authorized departure status.
