UNCLAS ABU DHABI 001875 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PREL, SNAR, TC SUBJECT: MINI DUBLIN GROUP MEETING -- EMBASSY ABU DHABI The Greek DCM convened the Abu Dhabi Mini-Dublin Group on April 26 to discuss the drug situation and policy initiatives in the United Arab Emirates. Group members discussed a report prepared by the Greek Embassy on the narcotic situation in the UAE and recommendations for moving forward, which be forwarded to Athens for inclusion in the Dublin Group,s Middle East report. The consensus of the group is that the UAE government is aware of the drug transshipment problem and demonstrates a sincere will to combat the problem, by continuing to work with third countries and international organizations. In attendance at the meeting were representatives from the Embassies of Austria, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Romania, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
