UNCLAS AMMAN 003088 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: KNNP, KPAO, OIIP, PARM, PHSA, JO SUBJECT: PROLIFERATION SECURITY INITIATIVE OUTREACH IN JORDAN REF: STATE 61730 1. In response to reftel, PAO Amman, in consultation with Legal Attache, has made plans to exploit the following outreach opportunities to publicize the message of the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) in Jordan. PAO will use material available on the Bureau of International Information Programs' (IIP) website regarding the PSI as a means to engage Jordanian government officials, journalists and academics interested in security issues. PAO will use an e-mail listserve to disseminate the information. Emboffs with press contacts will be briefed on the PSI and instructed to bring the topic up in private conversations with their journalistic contacts. The Legal Attache and post's EXBS Advisor on export controls will also discuss PSI with their key interlocutors in the Jordanian government. HALE
