UNCLAS SANAA 000950 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: EFIN, EINV, PREL, YM, DEMARCHE, ECON/COM SUBJECT: DEMARCHE ON G8 BMENA/OECD MENA INVESTMENT INITIATIVES DELIVERED REF: SECSTATE 64389 Econoff delivered reftel demarche to Deputy Finance Minister Nasr al-Harbi on April 13. Al-Harbi said that the ROYG is not sending a delegation from Sanaa to the World Bank/IMF Spring Meetings, but Ambassador al-Hajjri will represent Yemen. Al-Harbi promised to provide al-Hajjri with details on the OECD Governance and Investment for Development Initiative and the G8 BMENA Investment Task Force. MOF will also discuss the initiatives with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, which in the future will be the point of contact with BMENA/OECD on Yemen's investment climate.
