US embassy cable - 05KINGSTON1033

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

REF: STATE 063882

1. Econoff delivered the letter provided in reftel to
Angela Brown, Director for International Organizations at
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade on April
11. Brown did not have any immediate comment.

2. Econoff informally conveyed reftel information to
Colonel Torrence Lewis, Director General of the Jamican
Civil Aviation Authority on April 8. Lewis said that
Jamaica and the USG had made good use of their bilateral
relationship in the past, and he expected to do so in the
future. He commented that CARICOM was a good organization
to be a part of, but that it had a tendency to be very
slow in building member consensus.
