(U) According to the official GOM website MAP, King Mohammed sent on April 7 a message of congratulations to new Iraqi interim president Jalal Talabani. The King reportedly characterized Talabani's election as a reflection of the "democratic orientation and commitment to national unity and territorial integrity" of Iraq. BUSH
