Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

C O N F I D E N T I A L DAR ES SALAAM 000688 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: DECL: 4/6/15 TAGS: PREL, LE, SY, TZ, UNSC SUBJECT: Lebanon: Tanzanian Support for UN Security Council Resolution REF: STATE 61755 Classified by Pol/Econ Chief Judy Buelow for reason 1.4 (b). 1. (C) On April 6, Poloff delivered the demarche on the UNSC Resolution on Lebanon to Mr. Vitalis Njiku, head of the UNSC Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Njiku indicated that Tanzania supported investigation of the Hariri assassination in principle, but that the Tanzanian delegation had been concerned about the wording of earlier drafts of the resolution, and their implications for Lebanese sovereignty. Mr. Njiku accepted the talking points and the revised resolution transmitted in Reftel, and said he would consult with the Tanzanian delegation in New York on the matter. OWEN
