UNCLAS ROME 001145 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PHUM, IT, UNHCR-1, EUN, HUMAN RIGHTS SUBJECT: CHR 61: ITALY ON CUBA RESOLUTION REF: STATE 60754 Embassy Laborcouns passed reftel message urging Italian efforts to lobby for passage of the U.S.-sponsored resolution on the human rights situation on Cuba to the MFA's Human Rights Office. Office Director Carlo Campanile is in Geneva this week, but his office promised to forward our message. They noted that Italy, with the EU, has sponsored the resolution and will support passage.
