US embassy cable - 05HANOI794

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

Dear Mr. Ambassador,

I would like to send you enclosed herewith the documents
that we have provided to the WTO Secretariat for the 10th
Session of the Working Party on Vietnam's accession.

Following the bilateral meeting in Washington, D.C. from 14-
16 March 2005, we already sent the revised goods offer for
the U.S. We would highly appreciate if the United States
can arrange the next bilateral negotiation from 25th to 29th
April 2005 in Washington D.C. I hope that the flexibilities
from both sides will be able to narrow the gap to achieve
the favorable results for our mutual benefits.

Once again, we would like to express our sincere thanks for
your valuable support and assistance to our process of WTO
accession and look forward to hearing from you in the
earliest time possible.

Yours sincerely,

(signed)

Luong Van Tu
Vice Minister of Trade
