(SBU) On March 30, we delivered reftel talking points to Africa Director Caroline Gudenus in the MFA's Middle East and Africa Bureau. Gudenus called back after hours to say that Under-Secretary for Development Assistance (USAID Director-equivalent) Irene Freudenschussreichl would attend the April 11-12 Donors' Conference on Sudan in Oslo. 2. (U) On March 25, Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik publicly welcomed the creation of a UN Peacekeeping Mission to Sudan (UNMIS), and announced that Austria would contribute up to five military personnel to UNMIS.
