Post received a letter dated March 7, 2005 from the Department of Trade Defense of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, notifying the USG of Brazil's intention to suspend anti-dumping measures for one year concerning exports to Brazil of medicines containing insulin originating from Denmark, France and the U.S. An unofficial translation of the text of the letter follows in paragraph 2. Original will be filed at Post. 2. Start Text. Note no. 499/DECOM/CGAP Rio de Janeiro, March 7, 2005 Ambassador, In accordance with article 61, sole paragraph, of Decree no. 1.602 of 1995, we are notifying the U.S. Embassy that the Chamber of Foreign Trade (CAMEX), by means of Resolution no. 4, published in today's Diario Oficial da Uniao (DOU), decided to suspend for one year antidumping measures applied to importation of medicines containing insulin, originating from Denmark, France, and the U.S.A., based on art. 60 of Decree no. 1602 of August 23, 1995. The anti-dumping order had been established through CAMEX Resolution no. 2 of February 23, 2001. I am attaching a copy of said Resolution in accordance with the recommendations of Art. 60 of the cited Decree. Finally, we request that you notify the U.S. firm ELI LILLY AND COMPANY, INC. regarding the decision contained in CAMEX Resolution no. 4 of 2005.
