US embassy cable - 05VIENNA875

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

1. (SBU) Pol Unit Chief delivered ref (a) points on March 10
to Dorothea Auer, Office Director for Biological and Chemical
Weapons in MFA's Bureau for Nonproliferation and Arms
Control. Auer said that Austrian representatives (including
herself) would certainly attend these meetings. Austria
probably would not have a presentation of its own, however.

2. (SBU) Further to ref (b), Auer thought that Austria could
support the U.S. proposals, with the caveat that experts had
yet to look at the individual pathogens and toxins. She
pointed out that Austria has no production of the relevant
pumps and other equipment.
