Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

UNCLAS MAPUTO 000345 SIPDIS DEPT FOR AF/EPS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: AMGT, ECON, ETRD, MZ, AGOA SUBJECT: 2005 AGOA FORUM INPUT REF: STATE 31066 On March 14, Emboff spoke with Luis Sitoi, Advisor to the Minister of Industry and Commerce, and delivered text of reftel. The text of reftel was also forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Sitoi expressed that the GRM would be interested in participating in the AGOA Forum in Dakar, and said that the possible forum topics mentioned in the reftel sounded positive, but said he needed to know more about the specific content of the forum. He added that Mozambique would benefit most specifically from seminars and training to learn about U.S. sanitary and phytosanitary regulations, and means by which Mozambique could improve their labeling and inspection systems in order to meet U.S. standards. Post agrees with Mr. Sitoi's suggestion, and recommends that the AGOA Forum cover U.S. import requirements in depth. LALIME
