1. (U) A/PolCouns delivered on March 13 ref A talking points
and statement on U.S. support for EU-3 diplomacy efforts on
Iran to Waleed Obeidat, Acting Deputy Director for the
Foreign Minister's private office. Obeidat had no
substantive response, but said he would forward the
information to FM al-Mulki before Mulki's March 14 departure
for Washington, D.C.
2. (C) A/PolCouns also conveyed to Obeidat ref B points on
Iranian interference in Iraqi politics. Obeidat replied that
Jordan remained "very concerned" about Iran's intentions
concerning Iraq, and again promised to pass on our message to
Mulki before the FM left for the U.S.
3. (C) Charge will follow up with the Jordanian traveling
party.
