US embassy cable - 05VIENNA735

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

(SBU) Emboffs have conveyed papers on the Australia Group
Plenary as per refs (a), (b) and (c) to Austrian MFA Bureau
for Nonproliferation and Arms Control. On March 7, we
discussed the U.S. proposals with Director Dorothea Auer
(Office of Biological and Chemical Weapons). Auer thanked us
for the information. Concerning ref (a), Auer thought the
idea of a Nonproliferation Seminar would be welcome in the
Australia Group. She pointed out, however, that the
Australia Group has no secretariat and inquired whether the
U.S. would be prepared to take the lead and provide necessary
organizational support.
