Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

UNCLAS GUATEMALA 000565 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PREL, TBIO, GT, UNGA, KCSI SUBJECT: GUATEMALA ON UNGA CONSIDERATION OF DECLARATION ON HUMAN CLONING REF: STATE 33916 Poloff delivered reftel demarche to MFA Assistant Director for Multilateral and U.N. Affairs, Luis Carranza, on March 2. Carranza assured poloff that Guatemala would again vote in favor of the Declaration on Human Cloning, as it did in the Sixth Committee, and reminded poloff that Guatemala voted against the Belgian amendment. Carranza said Guatemala could not commit to opposing all amendments without first considering them, but reiterated Guatemala's support for the Declaration in its current form. Poloff also met with Nery Rodenas, Executive Director of the Archbishop's Office of Human Rights, and First Secretary Monsignor Jerzy Cudny at the Papal Nucio. Both agreed to pass the message to their superiors, and both believed their superiors would be willing to contact the Guatemalan government to express support for the Declaration. HAMILTON
