UNCLAS BRATISLAVA 000172 SIPDIS SENSITIVE E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: KWMN, PHUM, EAID, LO, UN, CSW SUBJECT: GOS TO SUPPORT U.S. POSITION ON CSW REF: STATE 35769 SENSITIVE BUT UNCLASSIFIED -- PROTECT ACCORDINGLY (SBU) Poloff delivered reftel demarche March 2 to Emil Kuchar, Director of the Human Rights Department at the MFA. After consulting with the Slovak Ambassador to the UN and the Commission on the Status of Women text, Kuchar said the GOS will "fully support" the U.S. amendment. Kuchar noted the added influence from the Holy See's parallel demarche. Kuchar also indicated he alerted FM Eduard Kukan of this issue. THAYER NNNN
