UNCLAS YEREVAN 000337 SIPDIS DEPARTMENT FOR T AND EUR CACEN E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PREL, PARM, AM SUBJECT: ARMENIA RATIFIES ARTICLE 98 REF: YEREVAN 244 On February 28, Armenia's National Assembly ratified the bilateral Article 98 agreement with the U.S. This agreement, which was signed by DAS Laura Kennedy and FM Oskanian in Yerevan on October 16, 2004, was initially slated for ratification on February 9, but absenteeism prevented the parliament from achieving the necessary quorum (ref). The Agreement was passed with a unanimous vote. EVANS
