UNCLAS SOFIA 000357 SIPDIS SENSITIVE E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PREL, IZ, BU, NATO SUBJECT: BULGARIA FORMALLY CONFIRMS FIVE TROOPS WILL JOIN NATO TRAINING MISSION IN IRAQ REF: (A) USNATO 0054 (B) SOFIA 267 (SBU) The Bulgarian government formally confirmed on 24 February that it will send five trainers to take part in the NATO Training Mission - Iraq (NTM-I). Deputy Minister of Defense Ilko Dimitrov confirmed earlier to Post that the trainers could leave for Baghdad as soon as required by NATO.
