The GOAM has authorized the extension of the USGS MOU for five years from November 2, 2003. The text of the authorizing diplomatic note number 16/01878, dated February 21, 2005, follows. 2. Begin text: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States of America and in response to the Note No. 802/04A of November 5, 2004 has the honour to inform that the Armenian side agrees that the Memorandum of Understanding Between the U.S. Geological Survey of the Department of Interior of the United States of America and the National Servey [sic] for Seismic Protection of the Republic of Armenia Concerning Scientific and Technical Cooperation in the Earth Sciences, signed on September 25 and November 2, 1998, shall be extended, and shall remain in force for five (5) years since November 2, 2003. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the United States of America in the Republic of Armenia the assurances of its highest consideration.
