US embassy cable - 05KINGSTON364

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

Dear Secretary of State,

I write to extend my sincere congratulations on your
assumption of the post of Secretary of State for the United
States of America.

You assume this important responsibility to direct America's
foreign policy in a climate filled with immense challenges as
well as significant opportunities for the conduct and
management of international relations at the bilateral level
and in the multilateral arena.

As you would be aware, Jamaica and the United States have

cooperation based on our shared values and adherence to the
democratic process and rule of law. Within this framework,
we have sought to build a cooperative partnership in pursuit
of our common interests for sustained development and
economic prosperity.

I look forward to meeting with you in the near future and to
maintaining regular dialogue and active collaboration between
our two countries, as we seek to forge even stronger
alliances and implement strategic initiatives aimed at
achieving mutually beneficial objectives for peace, stability
and the development of our entire hemisphere.
