(C) In response to reftel, Refcoord informed UNHCR Chief Protection Officer Kirsten Young on January 27 of the latest developments in the case of DPRK asylum seeker Anh and asked what assistance UNHCR would be able to provide in the resolution of this issue. Reiterataing earlier commitments made by UNCHR Regional Representative Hasim Utkan, Young responded that UNHCR was willing to provide whatever assistance it could to facilitate a solution agreed upon by the concerned governments, including possible monitoring of events during a transfer at the Lao-Thai border.
