US embassy cable - 05BANGKOK752

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

1. (C) In response to reftel, Refcoord informed UNHCR Chief
Protection Officer Kirsten Young on January 27 of the latest
developments in the case of DPRK asylum seeker Anh and asked

resolution of this issue. Reiterataing earlier commitments
made by UNCHR Regional Representative Hasim Utkan, Young

assistance it could to facilitate a solution agreed upon by
the concerned governments, including possible monitoring of
events during a transfer at the Lao-Thai border.
