UNCLAS KINSHASA 000106 SIPDIS SENSITIVE E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PREL, PGOV, PREF, MOPS, CG SUBJECT: GREAT LAKES PEACE PROCESS - TRIPARTITE MEETING REF: SECSTATE 7714 1. (SBU) Ambassador-at-Large Andre Kaponga told DCM on January 20 the DRC delegation to the February 2 Tripartite will "probably" be headed by Minister of Regional Cooperation Mbusa Nyamwisi. (Note: Foreign Minister Ramazani told the Ambassador on January 18 that he would not be able to attend since he has a long-standing commitment in India at that time. End note.) Kaponga will also attend, along with Ambassador-at-Large Antoine Ghonda. Kaponga added that the DRC will also send 2-4 experts for the technical meeting on February 1. 2. (SBU) As Kaponga and Ghonda are currently planning to depart on January 25, post requests that agenda for the meeting be sent as soon as possible. 3. (U) Bujumbura minimize considered. MEECE
