UNCLAS DUBLIN 000073 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: AORC, KWMN, UN, CHR SUBJECT: VARIOUS RESOLUTIONS-NO COURSE YET FOR IRELAND REF: STATE 09812 On January 19, emboff delivered reftel to UN Desk Officer, Julian Clare. Regarding the various UN Commission on Human Rights (CHR) resolutions, Clare said the GOI shares understanding with the US and is also concerned that Human rights offenders are banding together for no action motions. However, the GOI has not yet decided its course on Cuba, China, or Belarus. Due to reshuffling of personnel on the DFA Human Rights desk this decision will likely take place in two weeks. BENTON
