B. MEIGS TELCON TO USOAS 19 JANUARY
1. In response to Charge's telephone call on USG intentions
to announce support for the OAS SYGEN candidacy of Francisco
Flores, Dominican Foreign Minister Morales Troncoso confirmed
Dominican support for Flores. He has asked for the date of
the proposed announcement at the OAS by A/S Noriega and Amb.
Maisto, so that he can issue appropriate instructions to the
Dominican OAS mission.
2. Embassy understands that date cited reftel is incorrect
and that the ceremony is likely occur sometime during the
week of January 24-28. Please advise so that we can inform
the Foreign Minister.
