US embassy cable - 05MADRID186

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

Subdirector General for EU Trade Policy Nicolas Lopez and
Subdirector General for Coordination and Bilateral EU
Relations Javier Parra Rodriguez (both with the Ministry of
Industry, Tourism, and Trade) confirmed to EconOff on 1/12/05
that Spain intends to keep its Friendship, Commerce, and
Navigation (FCN) treaty with the U.S. Parra noted that the
FCN treaty is substantively heavily weighted towards consular
and navigation matters that are worth keeping in this
bilateral instrument.
