UNCLAS MADRID 000185 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: AORC, KWMN, UN, CSW SUBJECT: SPAIN: UN COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN (CSW) -- RESOLUTION ON AFGHAN WOMEN REF: STATE 9810 Poloff delivered reftel talking points to Antonio Garcia Roger, MFA Assistant to the Deputy Director General of Human Rights on January 18. Garcia Roger transmitted our position on a resolution on Afghan women to Jose Antonio de Ory Peral, MFA Deputy Director General of Human Rights, via telephone and fax. De Ory Peral was attending EU Council Working Group on Human Rights (COHOM) meetings in Brussels and did not have an immediate comment. He promised to get back to us later on Spain's views.
