UNCLAS ABUJA 000678 SIPDIS DEPT FOR S/CT, EB/ESC/ESP, AF/W E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: KCOR, PTER, NI SUBJECT: NIGERIA: CENTRAL BANK WILL ACT ON NINTH LIST REF: STATE 36362 EconOff delivered reftel information February 27 to Central Bank Deputy Governor Ernest Ebi, who is responsible for International Operations. Ebi responded March 1 that the CBN would add the list of names per reftel to its terrorist watch list, which is sent to all domestic banking institutions. Banks are required to report to the CBN if accounts associated with persons on the watch list are identified. To date, no banks have identified accounts held by names on the list. Jeter
