US embassy cable - 02ABUJA653

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

1. Embassy Abuja contacted the Federal Ministry of Health and
the National Action Committee on HIV/AIDS (NACA) in regards
to reftel information. According to officials from both
agencies, the Thai Government has not contacted the GON.
With reftel information, NACA officials sent an email to the
Director of Research and Development at the Thai Government
Pharmaceutical Organization requesting information about the
proposed equipment transfer, but have not heard back from the
GOT.

2. Separately, the Government of Brazil reportedly has been
in communication with the GON regarding the provision of
generic anti-retrovirals. Six months ago, Brazil canceled a
visit to Nigeria by its Minister of Health at the last minute.
