(U) This is an action request. See paragraph 3. 2. (SBU) We delivered reftel points January 7 to Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Middle East Department Head Botsali. Botsali said Turkey strongly supports the IMIE. He asked for specific suggestions about the type of help IMIE seeks from Turkey; how IMIE will work with the UN and OSCE; and the U.S. perspective on how IMIE is linked to UNSC 1546. We referred him to Elections Canada on the first two inquiries. 3. (SBU) Action request: We request that the Department provide us the U.S. prespective on how IMIE is linked to UNSC 1546.
