US embassy cable - 04AMMAN9915

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

(C) A/PolCouns delivered reftel talking points December 15 in
a joint meeting with MFA official Walid Obeidat of the
Foreign Minister's Private Office and Jaffar Hassan, DCM of
the Jordanian embassy in Washington, D.C. (currently in Amman
with a visiting delegation of U.S. Senate staffers). Obeidat
and Hassan said the GOJ would contact the Jordanian
detainee's family and provide written information for the
Administrative Review Board (ARB) proceeding as requested.
They asked that ARB proceedings for the remaining Jordanian
detainees be conducted as soon as possible as the GOJ was
under considerable pressure to help resolve their status.
