UNCLAS THE HAGUE 002991 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PREL, MARR, NL, CY, UNFICYP SUBJECT: DUTCH REACTION TO REQUEST FOR VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS FOR UN PEACEKEEPING IN CYPRUS REF: SECSTATE 241068 Poloff shared reftel points with Pieter Ramaer, MFA deputy director of UN affairs, November 16. Ramaer was aware of the UNSC resolution on subject and appreciated that Cyprus' membership in the EU gives the EU an additional motive for making voluntary contributions to the peacekeeping mission. He had no specific reaction but promised to share EU feedback as soon as it was available. SOBEL
