Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

UNCLAS THE HAGUE 002764 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PHUM, BO, NL, EUN SUBJECT: UNGA 59/BELARUS - SPONSORING RESOLUTION ON HUMAN RIGHTS REF: STATE 230353 Joris Geeven, who covers Belarus (and OSCE) in the MFA's human rights department, appreciated receiving reftel draft resolution from Poloff on October 27 and promised to try to expedite the EU's decision on co-sponsorship this week. He particularly praised the draft as "concise and to the point." He said the Dutch would "almost certainly" be in favor of co-sponsoring but he could not speak for other EU member states. The EU response could come either through The Hague or via the Dutch Mission in New York, he said, whichever route is quicker once the EU developed a consensus position. SOBEL
