1. Summary: The Italian Coast Guard confirms receipt of focal 
plane arrays.  End summary. 
 
2.  Per reftel this message provides information regarding 
post-shipment end-use check on License 05-888338 for 
authorizing export of twenty indium antimonide focal plane 
arrays to the Italian Ministry of Transportation. 
 
3.  Embassy addressed request for information to Dr. Di 
Virgilio, Chief of Department for Maritime and Air Navigation 
at the Ministry of Transportation and Admiral Eugenio 
Sicurezza, the Commanding Chief of the Italian Coast Guard 
While Dr. Di Virgilio sent embassy a written reply saying his 
office had no information on subject request, Admiral 
Sicurezza replied with the following information:

 Subject:  Matis and Thermal Imager system (produced by Sagem 
s.p.a) for equipment of "Class 200" (vessels) at Rodriquez 
 
In reference to Embassy,s request of information dated July 
13, 2004, we wish to inform you that subject system has been 
furnished by Gem Electronic s.rl. of San Benedetto del Tronto 
to be installed in 21 Class 200 (vessels), under construction 
in the last three years at the Rodriquez naval shipyard in 
Messina.  With regards to the Focal plane arrays components 
specified in para 1 of the referenced note, our General 
Headquarters confirms the supply of 25 InSb Focal Plane 
Arrays DS 271 611 74-6 produced by the Raytheon Company to be 
installed in law enforcement boats as by end user Certificate 
that we enclose herewith.
