1. (C) Poloff shared ref a points with Karel van Kesteren,
Director of the Dutch MFA UN Affairs office, who promised to
continue EU efforts to identify a replacement for Hansen. He
said that he had asked EU counterparts for names during
meetings on the margins of the UNGA last week, and he
promised to do so again in Brussels at the next CONUN
meeting, October 25.
